LOL

ME

This is my yearbook pic from 1958 hehe :)

TIRED!

So after my first week of nursing school, I am really tired. I am not as tired as I thought I would be, but I am still worn out!!!!!
We covered so much information, I can't believe it! Most of the stuff hasn't been "new" info and it isn't too complex, so I am ok right now. The only thing I am going to have a problem with is when things start to get new and we are going this fast!!!
My kids stayed at Carmie's house Tues and Wed and with my SIL on Mon, Thurs, and today my hubby surprised me and had the day off, so he was able to stay home with them!!! That meant I didn't have to drive all the way to SIL's house today:) VERY NICE!!!:)
Things I found out this past week:
-All my tests will be around the same time-if I have 1, I will at least have 3!
-I will be working on the neuro unit when I am IN the hospitals. Alot of these patients will have brain damage.... strokes included:(
-I have to print a TON of crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-Even though I am 23, I am still one of the young ones! Now don't get me wrong, there are alot of 18 year olds, but there are also some who are older than me!
-The walk from the parking lot is quite a while, and my walking buddy walks pretty quick, which means (hopefully) WEIGHT LOSS!!!! I'm talking a good 1/2 mile one way!!!
-My teachers are really interesting, all very different.

-I MAY GO A LITTLE CRAZY BEFORE I AM DONE WITH ALL THIS, SO DON'T BE SURPRISED!!!!!!!!

"Pri-dee"

Ok, so every one has either seen my son, or seen a picture of him lately. He has curly blonde hair that you usually don't see on a little boy. I love it because he got it from me:) But my hubster loves it also, actually more than I do! He does NOT want it cut/trimmed at all. I have trimmed it probably 3 times just to keep the curls looking good, which B doesn't like at first. So anyway, the other day we were at Mawmaw and Pawpaw's house (Noah's choice to call them that instead of grandma and grandpa which the other grandkids call them)....

So Pawpaw says "Noah!! When are you going to get you hair cut?" and Noah put his hands on his head and said:

"NO, PRI-DEE!!!!!!!!!!!" (Pretty)

Mental Picture

LoL, ok, so I am tired and in a goofy mood, so enjoy this one! lol

So today at orientation, some of the senior nursing students came in and shared some advice with us newbies. One thing they all agreed on was having some sort of voice recorder so we could record our lectures and listen to them later.

Well just now, I was looking on amazon.com and the last item on my search page was....

LOLOL I got an instant mental picture of me sitting in class, holding the mic out in front of me to record the teacher's voice.... AAHHHHAHAHAHA....

I thought it was funny.

And no, this is not the recorder I will be buying:)

Tomorrow is the day!!!

Tomorrow is the day I "start" nursing school!!! It is actually orientation, but that means that after tomorrow and Tuesday I will officially be a nursing student!!! I have waited for this for a long time and I am so excited. I am also extremely nervous for what the next 2 years hold for me personally and also for my family. I hope I will do well and never regret this decision. I am sure I won't regret it, but I am afraid to leave my babies so much. The only thing that keeps me going is to know that I am going to help make our future better and that our kids won't remember this when they are older. Even though they won't remember it, I know I will and this is going to be the hardest thing I have ever done...
Anyway, that is what is keeping me from being in bed at 10:45 at night when I have to be up at 6am!!!!

(Will share tomorrow's events with you all later)

He FINALLY got some sleep!!

So lately my 2 year old has not been a fan of sleeping. He screams at nap time and gets out of his bed OVER AND OVER, and at night he does the same thing. Most nights it takes 2 hours for him to go to sleep which usually involves me or my husband sitting next to his bed until he drifts off and then we have to tiptoe out of his room and hope he doesn't wake up. Needless to say, it has been a NIGHTMARE for the past 2 weeks.

Well this past week, I have not been making him take a nap because I don't feel like fighting everyday for 2 hours. My goal was to make him as TIRED as possible so that he would go to bed at night with no difficulty. It has worked ok, he has fallen asleep on the couch or even in the car with me a couple of times.

Yesterday, he had a FUN PACKED DAY. His cousins were in town, so they all played outside on the slip n slide Then they played with toys inside. Then we went to visit some friends with a little girl our son's age and he played some more. Then last night we had to go to a reception for my husband's cousin and had to take the children (lovely, just lovely). He played and ran, and threw rocks and danced and ate most of their cantaloupe.... Then we came home. Daddy put him in bed and guess what.....

SILENCE!!!!!!!!!

We were shocked! He went to bed! No screaming, getting out of bed, no crying, no "Mommy!? Mommy??!!!?" NOTHING! HE WENT TO SLEEP!!!! AND HE SLEPT UNTIL

10:20 this morning!!!!!!

We did not go to church, we let him SLEEP! and when he woke up, he was so HAPPY! He was smiling and said "Hi daddy!!"

(This is from another morning, but it is the mood he was in)

LET'S SEE HOW TONIGHT GOES!!!!!

Momma

I just was thinking about my mom, and I wanted to have a chance to express how grateful I am for my mom.

My mom has done A LOT for me in my life, and is STILL doing so much for me. She helps me with my kids all the time and it means so much to me because even though I know she is tired, she will still hold them, feed them, or even just talk to them.

She is helping me with school and I am so happy, because if she didn't there is NO way I would be going.

She supports me in many ways. I know that we all have our differences, and sometimes mom and I do not always agree on things.

I just wanted to say how thankful I am to have MY mom and that I hope to appreciate her while I still have her which will hopefully be for a long time.

3 generations of mowing the grass...

So many of you do not know about my husband and his father's ritual of mowing the grass, so allow me to enlighten you.
His dad cuts the grass ALL THE TIME. When his dad comes home from work he will call my husband and ask him if he is home and then he says "I was thinkin bout cutting some grass". Which means, "I would like you to help me". So My husband goes outside and helps cut in laws grass. The next day the same thing happens, only this time it is our grass. So this goes on for a few days, until front and back lawns are cut. Only until the next week or so, when FIL asks hubby to help him again, and it starts all over.
*Bottom line... this is their "bonding" time:)
SO, a couple of weeks ago, my son decided to get his play lawn mower, and HELP "cut gass" with daddy and pawpaw. I just HAD to snap and pic, and I call it:

3 Generations of Mowing Grass
